The Chase Blanket Project

When Kate asked me if I would sew a blanket for Chase because
his blanket was getting worn out, I readily agreed.  Little did I realize
that when I agreed that it would end up being a real project
for Grandma!  Kate asked me for this blanket probably in November
of 2009 and the finished project was done in March 2010...
At first it was going to be a small blanket, not much bigger than
his old blanket, but then I over bought on the material and
so instead of cutting it down I decided to just make it
a bigger blanket...then I decided to put batting in the middle
so it would be warmer (for winter) - but Chase gets it for the summer instead!
Chase would ask me how his blanket was coming along because he had
seen the material in my closet.  At one point I didn't think it was going to
come together at all because I was having trouble getting it smooth and
stretched out for the tieing or is it tying?  not sure :)
Now that it is a finished project, I am just thankful it turned out
as well as it did!  I thought of taking pictures of the blanket and thought of
taking it in/on my father's old trunk
From the pictures it is hard to tell the size of the blanket, but
it fits a twin sized bed.  For the top edge of the blanket, I
found some football buttons and sewed them on the footballs across
the top edge so Chase would know what side was the top of his
new blanket.

Tyler's Award Ceremony 3-5-10

Kate and Ryan invited us to go and see Tyler's Award
Ceremony at school.  Many of the elementary school
children were receiving awards that day.  While we were waiting
for Tyler's award I took some pics of Chase since it was too
far away to get any pictures of Tyler as he got his award....
Here's one pic of Chase where I think he might be saying
you think you're going to get me to smile, huh?  Well, think again...
He then pointed his finger at me and I envisioned Uncle Sam
pointing his finger in an advertisement for the miltiary saying
Uncle Sam needs you, but instead it was Chase saying
 "I Need You!"
I liked the idea of being needed by Chase!
Chase practicing clapping.  Really Chase didn't need any practice
clapping...He was really good at celebrating the achievements
of his brother and the other members of the school.
After the Award Ceremony Tyler headed back to his class
and unfortunately bumped his head on one of the poles.  He
had to go to the office and they got him some ice to put on
his forehead.  He wasn't too happy about the bump....but
then....
He brought out his paper Leprechaun and we celebrated
his achievements...
And after that we all went to Spoons Yogurt to celebrate

Congratulations Tyler! The End

Redding Birthdays

Rob and I headed up to Redding to celebrate three
birthdays for March. His father's birthday is the 3th, his mother's
birthday is the 6th and his Aunt Joan's birthday is the 12th.
Rob's dad doing one of his favorite things - riding the tractor and...
feeding the goats!
Mom said that this flower was called a Thanksgiving plant because
it only blooms for Thanksgiving -- it's a little off schedule...
This is Joan's new residence.
In case you miss a picture of me, here's one of me in
the window of Joan's new residence...
I got Joan to smile at me in this picture by
asking her to say cheese :)
Mom just smiled for me - just cause she is such
a happy, loving person...
We wish Mom, Dad and Joan a happy birthday and
love them so much and wish them many happy days!
