Camping at Lassen National Park #1 - August 4, 2011 - The Hot Rock

Kate and Ryan decided that they wanted to go camping at Lassen National Park and invited Rob and I to go -- it didn't take much arm twisting and we made plans and reservations for August 3rd through August 7th, 2011...

I can't take credit for taking this picture, but I wanted everyone to know where we went camping.  This is a picture of Mt. Lassen and Manzanita Lake.  The campground that we stayed at was the Manzanita Lake Campground.  Kate and I like it because it has showers and a general store!  Hurray for showers!!!!  We had a great time camping and I actually slept fine in our huge, huge tent.  It was like living in a big house - just the two of us :)

When our children were little we would go camping at Lassen every year and the way we would measure how much they had grown was by taking pictures of our little family on the "Hot Rock" -- we went to the Hot Rock and took these fun pictures...

 Picture of Rob and I with our two grandchildren, Tyler and Chase -- how much joy they bring into our lives!  It was a fun day checking out all the places that we had visited on our past trips with our little family...

Bella and Bubbles

Rob and I invited family over for dinner and after dinner I got out the bubble maker...

I think Bella and grandma had the most fun!

There were so many bubbles that they were easy to catch, but you couldn't catch them all...

It was a happy bubble day!

 We'll have to do it again soon!

Princess Bella's Birthday Party

Bella had a wonderful birthday this year.  Her mom, Summer, made her this fabulous castle cake ... so we have a castle for a princess....

Seven Days of Sunsets

Rob and I had the opportunity to go down to San Clemente and stay at a beach house with Gary and many relatives.  Gary was there for the entire month of May and invited his family to come and join him when they could.  Rob and I headed down to the house right on the beach on May 23rd and I decided to take pictures of the sunset each day we were there.  Here are the daily winners:

A Question from Chase: "Where is My Computer?"

I couldn't resist blogging this funny episode with Chase.  When I came home from work, Rob told me a story about Chase and his computer.  He couldn't find it anywhere.  He searched in the regular places -- in the living room up against a wall (these are pictures of his computer, but when Chase was looking for his computer, it wasn't there)....

 

In his grandpa's office....(once again the computer wasn't there when Chase was searching for it)...

Then his dad said, well, Chase isn't that your computer over by the door?  Sure enough there it was -- a fabulous place to work with your computer....and look out at the fabulous view!  LOL

Chase made this computer himself and I think there might be a computer techy inside of him...
